My partners, Rachel Morina and Lauren Gennareli, are researching a project titled The Effect of CRISPR on the Lacz Gene in E.coli. We will be using a CRISPR kit from BioRad to modify the lacz gene. We will be using CRISPR in a high school laboratory. We wanted to do genetic engineering and CRISPR was one of the only genetic engineering methods that could be performed at a high school level. I am most excited to practice different lab techniques used in this experiment.
